🔑 What is a Token?

A token is a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of a data point. For example, an MC number "MC-123456" is converted into an irreversible 64-character hash — it cannot be decoded back into the original value. Even we can't read it.

Tokens are further wrapped with HMAC-SHA256 encryption on the server — meaning even a hypothetical server breach would yield nothing but meaningless strings. No names, no plates, no carrier information ever leaves your machine.

Active case tokens remain while your subscription is active
When you close a case, its tokens are retained for 12 months to support ongoing investigations by others
After 12 months, closed case tokens are automatically purged
If you cancel, all your tokens are removed from the network
Data is never sold, shared, or used for any purpose beyond matching
